Mengchu Zhou: An Global Leader in Automation and Smart Manufacturing

Dr. MengChu Zhou, Distinguished Professor at New Jersey Institute of Technology and Fellow of IEEE, IFAC, AAAS, CAA, and NAI, will share his groundbreaking work on Student-Centered Knowledge Distillation at IEEE SMC 2026.

Key Achievements:

• Internationally recognized pioneer in Petri nets, intelligent automation, smart manufacturing, and AI-enabled systems, with over 1400 publications, including 18 books and 700+ IEEE Transactions/Journal papers.
  
  
• Recipient of prestigious international honors, including the IEEE Lotfi A. Zadeh Pioneer Award, Humboldt Research Award for US Senior Scientists, IEEE Norbert Wiener Award, and Edison Patent Award.
  
  
• Inventor of 32 patents, with significant contributions to intelligent manufacturing systems, big data analysis,  Petri nets, and IoT, advancing both academic research and industrial applications.
  
  
  

What to Expect from His Keynote:

Dr. Zhou will present how principles from control law, fuzzy logic, and human education wisdom can be integrated to advance Knowledge Distillation technology and design lightweight and efficient models.
