Third Keynote Anouncement – IEEE SMC 2026

IEEE SMC 2026 is honored to feature Dr. Danielle Belgrave as our third keynote speaker. 

Danielle Belgrave: A Global Leader in AI for Healthcare and Scientific Intelligence

Dr. Danielle Belgrave, Vice President of AI and Machine Learning at GSK, will share her insights on “From Foundation Models to Scientific Intelligence: Building AI Systems that Connect Biology, Disease, and Drug Development” at IEEE SMC 2026.

Key Achievements:

· Internationally recognized leader in machine learning for healthcare, with nearly 20 years of experience across academia and industry.

· Leads the AI/ML Clinical Development team at GSK, with prior roles at Google DeepMind, Microsoft Research Cambridge, and Imperial College London.

· Recipient of prestigious honors including the Barry Kay Award from the British Society for Allergy and Clinical Immunology, the Medical Research Council Award in Biostatistics, and the GSK Exceptional Scientist Award.

· Served as General Chair of NeurIPS 2025 and Program Chair of NeurIPS 2022 and 2024, and currently serves on the NeurIPS board.

What to Expect from Her Keynote:

Dr. Belgrave will discuss how foundation models, disease-specific large language models, biomarkers, multimodal patient representations, and agentic AI systems can be integrated to support scientific discovery and drug development decisions.
